I think of these
beautiful mornings
how mist frames
our eyelashes
as we walk
across banks
of sparkling
snow

your hand
in mine:
calloused & smooth

there’s a fragile
Impermanence
to us in this light
soaking up warmth
wherever we can

in months
our yard
will bloom
with daisies
you & I
planted

but you
will already
be gone
